After three weeks of maintenance including 13 days out of the water, YWAM’s Medical Ship is back in the water, carrying the 12 crew who have been working tirelessly to make her look gorgeous.
There will be little that looks different apart from a shiny new paint job on the hull and the brand new mast that takes the place of the two we had before. Yet, from the wheelhouse up top to the engine room below, there has been much work done and many hours spent to get the ship ship-shape!Now that she is back in the water, checks must be completed to ensure we are watertight and that all generators are working as they should. Our team on board continues their diligence and have an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction at the work that has been accomplished so far.
Growing each day, as the 2011 outreaches approach, is a sense of excitement and anticipation. It is going to be an eventful year for the YWAM Medical Ship and all involved…a year of many adventures!
We still have a need of around $50,000 by the end of the month to finalise the maintenance schedule. Can you consider whether you could help contribute? Please click here to donate online.
