What We Do
We care, connect, serve and build in communities across Australia, Papua New Guinea, and beyond through four focus areas: training, medical ships, youth work, and radio.
Our staff are self-funded, full time volunteers who are dedicated to:
Our vocational training is designed for those who are seeking not only a qualification, but also a chance to use their vocation to serve others.
All of our training programs include a practical service element which ties in with our long-term vision in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
YWAM Townsville City Campus is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO Reg. No 30614, CRICOS Provider No. 02205D) with a broad range of courses on scope.
Over 84 percent of Papua New Guinea’s population lives in rural areas. The isolation and lack of infrastructure makes delivering healthcare and training very challenging.
Through the use of our ship, MV YWAM PNG, and our land based teams, we align ourselves with the PNG National Department of Health’s Health Plan to deliver healthcare and training to remote communities.
Our work is centred upon strengthening the local health system by building capacity in local health workers, delivering drug supplies, and assisting with health facility maintenance and upgrades.
At the heart of a Youth With A Mission is a passion to equip and empower young people to live purposeful and productive lives.
In collaboration with youth organisations and schools, we engage teens in Australia and PNG through high school seminars, local and overseas service projects, and our Youth Ambassador program to provide a positive, safe environment where they feel valued, motivated, and empowered to reach their potential serving the needs of others.
We are currently renovating a Youth Precinct just half a block from our Townsville City Campus.

YWAM Cafe Central
YWAM Cafe Central is a not-for-profit cafe located at Townsville’s dining and entertainment precinct, Central Village.
All profits go toward YWAM’s work in North Queensland and Papua New Guinea.
A unique aspect of the cafe is to provide hands-on experience to students who are undergoing a Certificate III in Hospitality through YWAM Townsville’s VET training program. In addition to training students in basic food and beverage service, the course also focuses on building good character and soft skills needed to be employable, while also giving students the opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way.
