YWAM MS acquired a near-new dental semi-trailer at the end of 2019 with the vision to bring the trailer into Port Moresby for the purpose of providing dental services, training opportunities, and health education to primary and secondary schools in the National Capital District.
With a growing population and over 100 primary and secondary schools in Port Moresby, this multi-use, mobile facility strengthens existing services and provides an ideal learning environment in which local healthcare professionals and students can develop their skills while responding to the needs in the district.
The trailer’s visits to schools are matched with interactive and motivational school programs that are centred upon helping students feel valued and empowered to contribute to the health of their nation.

Experience and support for dental students
Did you know that Papua New Guinea has one of the highest rates of mouth cancer in the world? The World Health Organization (WHO) states that ‘oral health is a key indicator of overall health, well-being and quality of life’.
The trailer’s visits to schools will be matched with interactive and dynamic school seminars that are centred upon helping students feel valued and empowered.
The seminars will engage students through multimedia, talk-spots, games, small groups, and simulations all while challenging them to think deeply about their lives. The seminars are designed to compliment the school’s efforts in empowering young people to live holistic and healthy lives; physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Topics include passion, purpose & perseverance, healthy relationships, and goals & values.
