The Ship DTS Central Provence team has arrived safely into Port Moresby after a relatively smooth sail back from the Western Provence. During the 2 weeks in the Western Provence the team got to once again partner with the YWAM Medical Ship in bringing health care and health education to some of the most remote and poorest places in Papua New Guinea. It was quite the experience to see the challenges that the people of the Western Provence face every day. The team were welcomed into each village with songs and it is amazing to see that despite the challenges faced each day the people have an amazing joy and capacity for giving despite having little of their own.
The team were able to run a number of health education programs as well as an evening open air program where they got to share their own stories and dramas to encourage the people in the village.
Today the team are heading out to a village about 8 hours drive west of Port Moresby. They will finish off their time in Papua New Guinea living in the village and running discipleship programs and hopefully some health education programs as well. All are doing well and excited to get back to village living!
