This first two weeks in Balimo have been really great for the October DTS team as they joined in with church and discipleship programs sharing to around 3100 people. Some highlights have been going to the local clinic and spending time with the patients there, sharing a drug and alcohol free message to 300 local high-school students. Another highlight for the team was finding two hover crafts that were used by the health centre to help the villages isolated by the surrounding mud and swamps.
After time spent in Balimo the team traveled to Awaba, a near by village, where the they will be based for five days. During their stay in Awaba they will be visiting and spending time in another six villages continuing to share about their experiences on DTS and the lessons they have learnt. They are also hoping to assess the needs of the villages they are visiting to see how we could partner with them in the future.
After four weeks in the Western Province the team is continuing to enjoy the PNG culture and are looking forward to making the most of their remaining three weeks.
