We will get back to you in 48-hours or less!

Hi, my name is Angelynne Limbiye and I am from Papua New Guinea. I grew up in Port Moresby most of my life and came over to study in Australia on a scholarship for three and a half years doing my bachelors at JCU. During my studies, I encountered God in more real ways than I have ever done before; I saw Him as my Father and my best friend. I then started on a beautiful journey with God and just saw his goodness in my life.

I decided to give a year after I graduated (in 2020) back to Him – whatever it may look like! I already had plans and expectations of what it would look like: I wanted to go back home and serve the need to reignite the zeal for God in our youths and young adults in my home church (shout out to my Pastor, Rev. Mundua Kagl whose fatherly wisdom I grew up in!). It sounded like something God would do or want and I thought it was the BEST plan. Then there was God’s plan – it was not a strong conviction or deep revelation at all, it was a quiet, sweet voice that pulled on my heart strings – this voice said to try out YWAM.

I looked up YWAM whom I knew about through my friends and saw that they had gap year programs but I still wasn’t convinced that I should do the Discipleship Training School (DTS) because I didn’t see myself in missions, although I love to support it. Despite that perspective, I felt a gentle nudge of confidence in doing a DTS so I applied, everything after that was a confirmation that I was stepping into the path God desired for me. That didn’t mean that there weren’t any hiccups and doubts on the way because there were, but I still had that gentle confidence leading me forward.

Now I am in the second week of outreach and I am in awe of all that God is to me – He has really had His way with me and His ways are so good! Not only I am grateful that I obeyed God’s gentle nudge, but I see now that my heart is growing more fond of working in His plans instead of mine (which was a real personal struggle). His desires for me are so much more awesome and it always ends up filling me with overwhelming joy. One of my biggest takeaways from the lecture phase is knowing the nature and character of God and understanding what it means to make Jesus my Lord! Getting to know God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit has really transformed the way I see my relationship with them and the world around me. I know now that I have hope, love, and freedom to live life abundantly and change my world.
