VET in Schools
Vocational education is one of the best ways for young people to explore their passions and get equipped. We offer several registered training programs for youth. In addition to all of the expected elements of a training program, our courses have an emphasis on building good character and the soft skills needed to be employable, while also giving students the chance to practice their skills within our organisation. We train in areas that are a part of our operations, so students will be giving back to the community in a meaningful way during their course and gaining valuable experience.
Year 11 and 12 students can undertake Certificate I or III courses with YWAM during their high school years. These cohorts run over 18 months, with a combination of online study and practical vocational work which takes place one day a week at YWAM’s Townsville City Campus. Students will get to be a part of YWAM’s community and practicing their skills among our vibrant youth environment.
Students who have finished school can also complete a Certificate I or III Course with YWAM these cohorts run over one year and are full time (20 hours per week) with a combination of online training and volunteering at our Townsville City Campus.
