Townsville Youth Ambassadors, Emily and Mia
We love seeing young people taking action in making a difference! Emily and Mia have been incredible so far as YWAM Medical Ships Youth Ambassadors. Read below to hear what the experience has been like for them.
“Earlier this year, we were asked to look into becoming the Youth Ambassadors for our school, Annandale Christian College. We created our action plan, met with our amazing mentor, Destini, and prepared to put our plan into action. We collected almost 200 toothbrushes, 44 toothpastes and several other items like floss, soap and spectacles from about 500 students. Our original goal was about 300 items total, so we were pretty close, but we hope that the next time we do a drive like this, or any other events, that it’ll be more successful. Besides getting free shirts, Malteasers at the meetings with Destini, and making fantastic videos for assembly, being Youth Ambassadors has given us an opportunity to be able to help those who are in need, and educate others on the conditions people are living in, outside of Australia. We are very thankful that we were given this opportunity, and hope to be more involved in the future.”
