Greetings one and all! We have now been down in Ayr for a week and a half now and we are all loving it! Gwen Marshall is our contact and she is incredible. She made us all dinner the first night we were there and had baked goods waiting for us when we arrived! Burdekin Baptist church has been our home, and despite getting very warm at night, is a great place to be! We have a kitchen, 2 showers and more than enough food! The people of the church, and various other people from town have been so loving, it’s seriously amazing! These people are incredible and we have been so insanely blessed by all of the hospitality and food!
So what have we been doing all this time? What work could we possibly be doing? Well, we have been doing lot’s and lot’s of school programs!! At the moment, we have been to eight schools in Ayr, Home Hill and Brandon. While each school is different, we find alot of the same at each school. Alot of kids and teens that are in need of something more than this world can offer. We’ve run a few Religious Education classes in the schools so far that revolve around Easter, but for the most part, we are just hanging out with the kids! We’ve played cricket, dodgeball, basektball, table tennis, handball, obstacle courses, ninja and many other random games! Through all of this, we have seen God shine through each other as we show God’s love to these students who need it so badly! The school chaplains are rock stars. All of the kids love them and they pour so much into the students everyday, they truly are amazing men and women of faith! One oppurtunity that we have is to go into Buredekin School, which is a school for those with disablities. Gwen helps run it and we had the chance to go in and make the staff breakfast and help them out with classes. The kids are beautiful and it was such a great time to bless the staff and love on the students! Besides that, we had a chance this past Sunday to go to three different churches. We ran Burdekin Baptist, where we stay, and they were kind enough to make us steak. Amen. Hannah Jackson spoke that morning and we led worship and it was a great time of God encouraging us all! Then we had a very good service that night at the Assemblies of God and Christrian Outreach Center. Emily Eshleman shared her story at the AOG service, while Lance Ovist, Garrett Eshuis, Hannah Jackson, Haliey DuPerron and myself (Daniel) led worship and spoke at the COC! It was a great night of seeing God move in both places and get loved by the beautiful people at those churches.
God is indeed good! Our team is rock solid and Maddie and I are so blessed and thankful to have the team that we have! We are all so stoked to see what God has for us in the time we have left here in Ayr, and we know that whatever it is, it will be AMAZING!!! PS. I tried to attach a couple of pictures, but the internet is not fast enough. It keeps not working. Sorry! Hopefully it’ll work soon!
