Cyclone Yasi has now passed through Townsville. We are grateful to report that all of our staff and students are safe.
Due to continued winds we will remain bunkered this morning. Power is out in our area and it appears that it may be some time until it is restored.
The storm is still continuing through other North Queensland communities inland and we would appreciate your continued prayers for those who have been and continue to be affected by this storm.

Yay to hear from you!! I tried Linz earlier and figured that phones would go out at some point. Glad you are all safe!! Walkie Linz and tell her her mum is good and just waiting to hear from her when she can. Blessings to you all!!!
We prayed the following for you during our intercession time this morning:
* People to have sensitive ears – to hear what God is saying in the roar of the wind and water.
* Jeremiah 3:25-4:2 Turn back to God. God will make a way through the water, and bring a cleansing to the land.
* Prayed that the church will step up with many expressions of love – especially to those who have lost family members and possessions in the floods and cyclone, and that the church will put the spiritual gifts to work.
* 2 Chronicles 7:14
* Prayed for mercy for Queensland and the storm to subside.
* Psalm 69:1-2, 13-16
* Psalm 91:1-4
* What was meant for destruction would be turned to new life.
* Prayed that Australians would open their hearts to God – this is bigger than they can handle on their own, they would see their need for God.
* Ripple effect of a revelation of God starting in Queensland and spreading throughout the nation.
* YWAM base – for protection, and the ability to be light and the touch of Jesus to those who need assistnace.
Thank you so much for the update! As media coverage on this storm seems to be limited in Canada, we’ve been monitoring Australia’s weather bureau. Blessings,
Charlyn & Ray Passey
