G’day,
We are just keeping you up-to-date on cyclone developments here in Townsville. Cyclone Yasi is on its way toward the North Queensland coast, aimed to hit Innisfail which is around 250km north of Townsville. Due to the size it is expected that we will feel some effect – strong wind and rain.
We have implemented our emergency procedures for cyclones. Our office and accommodation facilities are not situated in a low lying area, so evacuation at this stage is not necessary. It is important to note that cyclones are quite common in this region and while this is certainly larger than usual, our community has taken all necessary precautions as the storm approaches.
Our ship is well-secured in a good location and we have crew on board who will be monitoring the situation throughout the storm.
We appreciate your continued prayer for the entire North Queensland community and we will endeavour to keep you updated as the situation progresses. It is anticipated that we will lose power at some point so please don’t be alarmed if it takes us time to get back to you.
Kind Regards,
Ken Mulligan
CEO
