The YWAM Medical Ship, MV YWAM PNG, was open to the Townsville public last Saturday before she returns to Papua New Guinea for her next deployment.
The open day included free tours of the ship’s clinics, wheelhouse, cabins and living areas, as well as Papua New Guinean cultural experiences and activities for kids – including a visit from the 1300SMILES tooth fairy.
The open day gave the Townsville public the opportunity to experience and see first-hand the medical ship that calls Townsville home.
The MV YWAM PNG will depart Townsville on Saturday for a 7-month development to remote areas in Papua New Guinea.
Since 2010, YWAM Medical Ships has delivered over 911,000 healthcare and training services, including direct care to over 176,000 patients in hundreds of remote villages.
