This week the Ship Discipleship Training School has joined together as one team to work alongside YWAM Medical Ships as they work in Port Moresby, the Capital city of Papua New Guinea. The team are working in a number of different teams, some helping in the medical clinics, some helping on board the ship and others working in teams going into schools around the city speaking on health care, bullying and teaching in religious instruction classes.
On Monday the YWAM Medical Ship was open to the public for tours and some of the team got to assist win giving tours and connecting with the locals who came through the ship. Others were already busy working in the clinics, and another group had the privilege of serving at the YWAM PNG gathering. There is certainly no shortage of things to do and the team are making the most of this unique opportunity.
Next week will be the final week of lectures on board the ship where the school will be learning about missions and how to be effective. After which half the school will fly up to the Highlands and the other half will sail out to the Western Provence for another outreach on board.
