Bigpla hamamas! in Port Moresby….Greetings from the Highlands Ship Team 😀
Over the last few days the team has finished up a ‘Leadership Training’ Program with the Tertiary student christian fellowship (TSCF) at the University of Papua New Guinea, which ended up been an amazing opportunity to eat with the college residents on the campus (over 2000 students), also invest in relationship with them. The team shared and taught in a variety of ways including drama, testimony, song, workshops, up front teaching. They were also very encouraged with God ’s provision as they were able to eat with the college students (usually not available to public) and speak with the student university president.
They also had the opportunity over the last weekend to be involved in an open air program in a local community in the city of Port Moresby (POM) and also were invited to be apart of a couple of the local small group fellowships, which involved sharing & plenty of eating 🙂
The last couple of days the team has been involved in running a community camp, hosted by four square (where the team are currently staying) and has been involved in the general programing, facilitating teaching workshops. Again, they have felt so blessed by the youth and family of the ‘four square’ community. Loving it!! 🙂
“It brought tears to my eyes to see the YWAM team come to my community and eat the food we eat and be apart of our family and culture, we would love you to come back again”. (A Father of one of the campers at the Youth Camp)
(Above photos-a few snaps of what they have been up to-click for larger photo)
The camp finishes up tomorrow they are excited to meet up with the other half of their team on the ship.
They pass on greetings to family and friends and thank you for your encouragement & prayers.
