Support continues to build and partnerships are becoming stronger for YWAM Medical Ships – Australia (YWAM MSA). During its second annual Port Moresby Outreach, the Medical Ship was privileged to host distinguished guests and influential people of PNG, the PNG Minister for Sports & Pacific Games, Hon. Justin Tkatchenko MP, and the Milne Bay Province Governor, Hon. Titus Philemon.
Minister Tkatchenko met with YWAM MSA’s Managing Director, Ken Mulligan, earlier this year in Port Moresby to discuss the PNG Government’s support of the Medical Ship. Weeks ago, during the PNG Prime Minister’s visit to Townsville, Justin accompanied him while he met with YWAM MSA representatives. Finally, in the last week of July, he came on board the Ship in the capital city during it’s annual outreach.
Governor Philemon also came on board during the Port Moresby outreach. He was pleased to invite YWAM’s land based teams to come visit his province, in hopes of future services being delivered, and continuing to build a lasting partnership with YWAM MSA. One such team has recently been welcomed to the Milne Bay Province and will be working alongside the Governor and the community for next number of weeks.
YWAM representatives were honoured to host the two PNG leaders on board the Medical Ship, and look forward to working with each of them in seeing lasting change and hope come to their nation.
