YWAM Medical Ships Australia & Papua New Guinea (YWAM MS) is delighted to share that we plan on redeploying the training and medical ship, MV YWAM PNG, from Townsville to Papua New Guinea early February, 2021.
The ship will initially be positioned in Port Moresby in a state of readiness. After receiving an invitation from the Western Provincial Health Authority, plans are now underway to resume healthcare patrols to remote communities in June for an initial 6 month engagement.
A number of exciting ventures will also commence in 2021, including:
- Establishing a satellite vocational training campus in Port Moresby to help increase accessible training options for young people
- Actively working toward delivering a fully fitted out medical and dental semi-trailer for engagement in schools in the National Capital District
- Establishing a community radio station in Port Moresby
We are looking forward to the year ahead and are so grateful for the support that has been extended during such an unprecedented season.
If you would like to contribute toward the costs associated with preparing the ship for its return to PNG, donations can be made at this link. Every gift, no matter how large or small, is a tremendous help.
