Located on the shoreline of Papua New Guinea’s capital city, our Port Moresby campus – affectionately known as The Jetty – is more than a training location. It’s a launchpad. Here, is a missions hub where students from across Papua New Guinea and around the world come together to grow, serve, and be sent.

This Discipleship Training School (DTS) is for anyone ready to deepen their relationship with God and live a life of purpose and impact.

Discipleship Training School

For five months you’ll be immersed in a live-learn community where diverse cultures come together to grow in their faith and serve together in mission. You’ll be equipped spiritually and practically to serve in cross-cultural settings – from local outreach in Port Moresby to remote villages in PNG and south Asia.

No matter where you come from, this DTS will help you discover your place in God’s story – and help you carry hope to the nations.

How DTS is structured

Lecture Phase – 3 Months

You’ll spend the first 12 weeks at our campus in Port Moresby learning more about God and growing in your relationship with Him. Through weekly teaching, worship, small groups, mentoring, and ministry involvement, you’ll explore topics like:

  • Hearing God’s voice
  • God’s nature and heart
  • Finding your identity in Christ
  • Understanding missions and the nations
  • Developing character and healthy relationships
Live and learn in community
Grow in Faith, know God deeply

Outreach Phase – 9 Weeks

Next, you’ll take what you’ve learned and put it into action. In teams, you’ll travel to communities across PNG, the Pacific, or Asia – bringing hope through:

  • Youth and school outreach
  • Healthcare support
  • Prayer and discipleship
  • Community development
  • Bible engagement

6,000 PGK course fee + outreach travel expenses – C nation price
12,800 PGK course fee + outreach travel expenses – B nation price
15,800 PGK course fee + outreach travel expenses – A nation price

YWAM MS uses information supplied by the United Nations and other sources to rank countries in three categories (A, B, C) based on their per capita income. See the full list of nation financial categories.

Your course fee includes 12 weeks of missions training and 9 weeks of outreach. The training includes all of your meals, accommodation, laundry facilities, airport transfers. Your outreach includes all of your meals, accommodation, outreach shirt, and field supplies.

Your outreach travel expenses will cover variable costs such as flights, ferries, busses, etc.

All international students studying in Papua New Guinea are required to obtain Health & Travel Insurance. For A&B nation students, course fees include Health & Travel Insurance cover for the duration of the course.

Does not include travel costs to and from Port Moresby, visa, and immunisations.

Proficiency in English and a sense of call to Christian Missions.
