Vision & Approach
The need for engagement with our community to support our young people is greater than ever! Statistics are highlighting the rates of disengagement, suicide, and mental health problems; however we have not lost hope. We believe the youth of Australia and Papua New Guinea have great potential and we are excited for everything our youth programs have to offer them.
Preventative programs developed over years of experience working with youth provides YWAM with the ability to tackle the tough conversations on issues young people face while empowering them to have confidence to bring the change they want to see.

Our Vision
Youth With A Mission (YWAM) international is a movement of separate legal entities with shared values operating in over 180 countries. YWAM and has no centralised headquarters or funding.
In keeping aligned with the worldview and the foundational values of the organisation, YWAM’s Christian ethos endeavours to create policies and procedures that cultivate a healthy organisation to care, connect, serve, and build within individuals and communities.
Our Approach
We work by invitation, seeking to work in collaboration and respect with a non-partisan approach at the national, provincial/state, district/regional, and local level in both Australia and PNG.
Our outreaches are carefully planned, centred upon serving the needs identified by relevant authorities in the community.
We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work, learn and care and pays respect to the Indigenous people in Papua New Guinea, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Elders – past, present and emerging.
Child Safeguarding
We are a child-safe organisation. The safety and well-being of children is a vital priority for us.
We have strong recruitment and training procedures in place to make sure suitable people work with children in our activities and all personnel are provided with ongoing supervision and support in this area.
Our Child Protection Policy is available here.
