Youth Ministry DTS
The Youth Ministry DTS is for those who are passionate about empowering and equipping teenagers to realise their potential and live a life of purpose!
10802NAT – Certificate III in Discipleship
In addition to the personal discipleship you will receive during DTS, you will also have two hours per week dedicated toward empowering you in effective youth ministry. Topics may include: how to lead and empower young people, youth culture, working with schools, public speaking, running small groups, and how to put together an inspiring talk.
The Youth Ministry DTS has outreach opportunities in both Australia and Papua New Guinea. In Australia, suicide is the biggest killer of Australian youth, and depression is on the rise. In Papua New Guinea, over half of the population are under the age of 20, but only 0.7% are receiving a university education. The needs in both of these nations highlight the need for a greater sense of hope and purpose. During your outreach, you will be contributing toward a longer term vision and strategy alongside local schools and youth organisations.
During the Youth Ministry DTS you may have the opportunity to work in high schools, help run mission trips specifically designed for teenagers, and work with other local youth organisations.
If you love a good food fight, and are willing to invest into the lives of teens, the Youth DTS might just be that you’re looking for!
