- Public speaking
- Public relations
- Research, professional, and creative writing
- The art of feedback, and listening skills
- Cross cultural communication
- Interpersonal communication: conflict resolution, assumptions and relational matters
- Intrapersonal communication: working from the inside-out: discovering the heart of the issue
- Basic photography & videography
- Social media
The Introduction to Communication, PR & Marketing course seeks to cultivate your oral and written communication skills, while discovering more of who God made you to be as a communicator.
At the end of this course, you will have the opportunity to complete a practicum, giving you the opportunity to work with our media hub right at our Townsville campus, including our radio station that broadcasts to over 26,000 listeners every month! During the practicum, you will have an opportunity to gain hands-on experience while doing some additional online learning that will contribute toward the completion of your Certificate IV in Marketing & Communication (BSB42415). You may also have the opportunity to complete a media focused outreach aboard the YWAM Medical Ship, MV YWAM PNG.
This course is also recognised as a core course with YWAM’s University of the Nations. Completion of this course will contribute 12 credits toward an Associate or Bachelor degree with the University of the Nations. If the practicum is complete, a further 10 credits can be applied.
