Construction is an integral part of building infrastructure and stronger communities.
A Certificate I in Construction (CPC10111) is a great introduction into the construction industry. This course will equip you with the basic skills and knowledge for the use of construction tools and materials, interpreting and reading plans, taking measurements and making calculations. The course is designed to prepare you for entering the workplace and is an excellent first step into many trades, including wall and floor tiling, painting and decorating, carpentry and bricklaying.
The course includes a combination of online study and volunteer work experience at the YWAM Townsville City Campus, allowing you to gain real ‘on the job’ experience within the context of charitable service.
High School Students
Year 11 and 12 students can undertake this course while in school. These cohorts run over 18 months, with online study at your own pace and one day per week of volunteer work experience at the YWAM Townsville City Campus.
High School Graduates
Students who have finished school can also complete the course over one year. These cohorts are full time (20 hours per week) with a combination of online training and volunteering at the YWAM Townsville City Campus.
YWAM MS Staff
This course is also available to YWAM MS staff who wish to enhance their skills and knowledge while on the job.
