Something is growing in Gladstone, and there’s room for you in it.

YWAM Medical Ships has a developing presence in Gladstone with a simple vision to create a place where people can come together, discover purpose, grow in their faith and skills, and serve the region in practical and meaningful ways.

Since 2022, we have been working alongside 91.9 Fresh FM to help establish a permanent YWAM outreach house in Gladstone. Together, our desire is to care for people, build strong relationships and contribute to a healthy and thriving community.

But the vision is bigger than a radio station.

Gladstone is becoming a place where young people, families, volunteers and people from across the nations can gather, be equipped and be released to make a difference. A place where people can encounter God, discover more of who they are and what they have to contribute. And a place from which teams can reach further into Regional Queensland, Australia and Papua New Guinea, and the world.

One of the key expressions of our presence in Gladstone is our collaboration with 91.9 Fresh FM, a community radio station that has served the region for more than 30 years.

Fresh FM provides a platform to encourage, celebrate local stories and connect with the community through events and initiatives, underpinned by its dedication to broadcasting the positive message “It’s Good to Be Alive”.

In Gladstone, we want to create opportunities for people to learn in an environment where what happens in the classroom can be put into practice.

Through YWAM Medical Ships Training and our partnership with Fresh FM, students can gain practical experience in areas such as radio, media and communication while contributing to the life of the community.

Looking ahead, we see opportunities for an even wider range of training, discipleship and leadership development that equips people not simply with qualifications, but with confidence, character and a heart to serve.

With 4 newly built units, YWAM Medical Ships Gladstone provides a base for outreach, training, and community engagement, and is an open doorway through which people can join the mission.
